I am currently living and working in Gothenbourg in Sweden as a freelance cellist as well as a cello teacher.
I have more than fifteen years of music educations in different universities and in conservatories in Australia , Germany and Sweden in my back ground.
Since I was fifteen years old, I was accepted by the Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Australia and studied with professor Marcus Stocker as the youngest student in his class.
I finished my ground music education; Bachelors of Music with First Class of Honours in Australia and I continued even more advanced cello playing and chamber music studies by professor Claus Kanngiesser in the Köln Musikhochschüle in Germany.
Between the year of 2000 and 2004 in Germany, I had an intensive series of opportunities to study the performance of string quartets. We won a international competitions and many national scholarships around Spain and Germany. We had even opportunities to study with the most representative worldwide string quartet like Alban Berg Quartet, Melos Quartet and Hagen Quartet.
I have also made solo appearances in many numerous international master classes with legendary cellists, musicians such as Natalia Shakowskaja, Ralph Kirshbaum, Lynn Harrell, Philip Muller, Tim Hugh, Eberhard Finke, Raphael Wallfish, Uzi Wiezel, Richard Markson, Harro Ruijsenaars and Frans Helmersson.
Since 2005, I moved to Sweden and continued music Master and Soloist Diplom degree under professor Ola Karlsson at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. I made my solo debut recitals with my sister Duo Byun in 2012 in Stockholm (2012).
I have also working as a freelancing orchestra musician in the Swedish Radio Orchestra in Stockholm, Norköping Symphony Orchestra, Göteborg Symphony Orchestra and Göteborg Opera Orchestra.
Since 2012, I have devoted to teach children as a part time in the Kulturskolan in Gothenburg in Sweden. I am also actively leading different children concerts and creating projects for ensemble groups as well as leading the orchestras for young musicians.
